Make the perfect Instagram profile picture

Instagram displays profile pictures at 320×320 pixels, cropped to a circle — which is why faces get cut off and logos land in the corners. This free profile picture maker lets you crop any photo into a circle with zoom and drag, preview exactly how it appears on your profile, in the story ring, on posts, in comments and in DMs, then download it at 320×320, 1080×1080 HD, or the exact size Facebook, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, WhatsApp and Discord expect.

How to resize a profile picture for Instagram

  1. 1Upload a photo (JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC) or paste one from your clipboard.
  2. 2Drag to position the face in the circle and zoom in or out. Rotate or flip if needed, and pick a background for any empty space.
  3. 3Optionally add a colored, gradient or Instagram-style ring around the picture.
  4. 4Check the live previews — profile header, story tray, post header, comment and DM — then download the size you need, or every platform size as a ZIP.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Instagram profile picture size?

Instagram stores profile pictures at 320×320 pixels and displays them as a circle. Uploading a larger square (1080×1080) is fine — Instagram downsizes it — and gives you a sharper result on high-density screens.

Why does my profile picture look cropped?

Instagram crops the square you upload to a circle, so anything in the corners disappears. Keep the face, logo or text inside the circle preview shown in this tool and it will never be cut off.

Why is my profile picture blurry?

Usually the source was smaller than 320 px or it was saved with heavy compression. Start from a photo at least 320 px on the short side (ideally 1000+), export as PNG or high-quality JPG, and upload that.

Can I use the same picture on other platforms?

Yes. Pick the platform in the export panel — Facebook (720), X (400), LinkedIn (400), TikTok (200), YouTube (800), WhatsApp (500), Discord (128) — or download all sizes as a ZIP.

Is my photo uploaded to a server?

No. The cropping and resizing happen in your browser. The photo never leaves your device.
