What is the Instagram profile picture size?

Instagram stores profile pictures at 320×320 pixels and displays them as a circle. Uploading a larger square (1080×1080) is fine — Instagram downsizes it — and gives you a sharper result on high-density screens.

Why does my profile picture look cropped?

Instagram crops the square you upload to a circle, so anything in the corners disappears. Keep the face, logo or text inside the circle preview shown in this tool and it will never be cut off.

Why is my profile picture blurry?

Usually the source was smaller than 320 px or it was saved with heavy compression. Start from a photo at least 320 px on the short side (ideally 1000+), export as PNG or high-quality JPG, and upload that.
